The major concentration in Medical Physics leading to a Bachelor of Science degree consists of 22 upper-division hours of physics and 3-6 hours of upper-division course in mathematics. The Medical Physics Major Track is intended for students interested in attending graduate school in areas such as medical physics and bioengineering, as well as graduate pre-professional health and medical schools.

Per university requirements, students must choose additional upper-division coursework to complete the major requirement of 30 hours of upper-division coursework. Students are advised to work with their advisor to choose these hours to complete coursework necessary for graduate school entrance requirements. A grade of C or better is required in each upper-division course counted toward fulfillment of the major requirements. (A grade of C- will not satisfy this requirement.)

Choose either General Physics or Physics for Scientists and Engineers:

PH 2800 - General Physics I (3) and
PH 2810 - General Physics Laboratory I (1)
and
PH 2900 - General Physics II (3) and
PH 2910 - General Physics Laboratory II (1)
or
PH 2850 - Physics for Scientists and Engineers I (3) and
PH 2860 - Physics for Scientists and Engineers Laboratory I (1)
and
PH 2940 - Physics for Scientists and Engineers II (3) and
PH 2920 - Physics for Scientists and Engineers Laboratory II (1)

OR Physics Concepts and Connections (with instructor approval):

PH 1700 - Physics Concepts and Connections I (3) and
PH 1710 - Physics Concepts and Connections Laboratory I (1)
PH 1750 - Physics Concepts and Connections II (3) and
PH 1760 - Physics Concepts and Connections Laboratory II (1)
