JA 1100 - Elementary Japanese I (4) Integrates a study of basic Japanese with its culture using a conversational approach. Vocabulary and grammatical structures needed for basic communication is emphasized. Practice is given in a variety of everyday situations.

JA 1150 - Elementary Japanese II (4) A continuation of JA 1100 .
Prerequisite: JA 1100 or approval of instructor.

JA 2100 - Intermediate Japanese I (3) A course designed to develop speaking, listening, writing and reading skills needed to perform everyday tasks such as asking for and giving directions, descriptions, eliciting and providing information.
Prerequisite: JA 1150 or approval of instructor.
