BL 4800 - Evolution (3) This class will study the evidence and mechanisms of evolution. Evolution, as the central theory of modern biology, provides the tools necessary to understand how biological systems function. Therefore, the course will cover micro- and macro evolutionary theory, including the development of the modern evolutionary synthesis. Additional topics will focus on Hardy Weinberg equilibrium, variation, adaptation, selection, and the process of speciation. Systematic theory, phylogenetics, and nomenclature will also be discussed.
