TH 3003 - Religion, Spirituality, & Nursing

(0)
Familiarity with various religious beliefs and practices and how they play out in society is vital.  This course emphasizes critical thinking regarding religion, practices, and sacred texts.  It provides the fundamentals of the intersection between religion as well as spirituality and nursing by covering how the values and practices of Christianity and several other world religions, as well as spirituality in general, impact health care in the United States.  Respect for the patient’s beliefs concerning spirituality is important for treating the whole person, especially as they face illness, debilitation, pain, and ultimately death.  Enrollment is restricted to students transferring into the BSN program.  This is a graduation requirement course.
