CH 4440 - Applied Methods of Instrumental Analysis

The principles and methods of instrumental analysis are emphasized. Lecture 2 hours per week. Laboratory 3 hours per week. Lab fee.
Instrumental methods/topics covered will vary but will consist of several of the following: chromatography (gas chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography), electrochemistry (potentiometry, coulometry, voltammetry, amperometry), and spectroscopy (ultraviolet, visible, infra-red, fluorimetry, nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry).
Prerequisite: CH 2730 and a grade of C or better in CH 3450 and CH 3460 .
