MLS 4010 - Clinical Hematology - North Kansas City Hospital

This course incorporates theory and laboratory study of hematology and coagulation, including production of blood cells, microscopic identification of normal and abnormal cell morphology; examination of bone marrow; cytochemistry, special stains, and flow cytometry; hemostasis and coagulation testing; microscopy, manual methodologies, instrumentation, and quality control. This course emphasizes the correlation of clinical laboratory data with diagnosis, medical significance, clinical correlation to disease state and treatment of anemias, leukemias, and bleeding/clotting disorders.  

Prerequisite: Acceptance to an affiliated accredited school of Medical Laboratory Science.
