MLS 4020 - Clinical Microbiology - North Kansas City Hospital

This course incorporates theory and laboratory study of concepts and techniques involving collection, isolation and identification of pathogenic microorganisms including bacteria, parasites, fungi, and viruses; evaluation for sensitivity to antimicrobial agents; microscopic, biochemical, serologic, and molecular diagnostic testing methods.  This course emphasizes epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnostic procedures, medical significance, and clinical correlation to disease states. 

Prerequisite: Acceptance to an affiliated accredited school of Medical Laboratory Science.
