HS 3999 - Critical Decisions in History (3) This course examines critical decision-making in historical context. The course will examine critical moments in which consequential decisions were made in the face of complex pressures and conflicts. The examples chosen depend on the choice and expertise of the instructor, but may include: Athens’ ‘Sicilian Expedition’; the decision to launch of the First Crusade; Henry VIII’s break from the Catholic Church; the decision to drop the atom bomb; critical decisions of the Civil Rights movement.
