College of Arts and Sciences
The minor program consists of 15 credit hours of history, six of which can also count for core curriculum credit. The minor consists of three lower-division credit hours plus 12 hours of upper-division electives. Both the Core historical mode level 1 (HSI) requirement and the lower-divison hours for the minor can be satisfied with one Western or World Civilization course. Alternately, HS 2100 or HS 2500 can count as lower-division credit for the minor. A 3000-level history course will both satisfy the History/Literary Level II (HSII) requirement in the Core, and count as three hours toward the minor. Upper-division electives must be completed with grades of C or better. (A grade of C- will not satisfy the requirement.) The student should consult closely with the history department chair in arranging the minor program of study.
