Biomedical Physics, Physics of Medicine (POM) Pre-Professional, B.S.

The Physics of Medicine Pre-Professional major is an interdisciplinary major intended for students interested in attending graduate school in any area of healthcare or medicine.

Choose either Physics for the Life Sciences OR Physics for Scientists and Engineers:


Additional Required Courses:


MT 1800 - Calculus I   Prerequisite for PH 3210 , PH 3240  and PH 4900  (may be taken concurrently with instructor approval).

To complete the interdisciplinary component of the Physics of Medicine Track, choose a minimum of 9 credit hours from list below:

Per university requirements, students must also choose additional upper-division coursework to complete the major requirement of 30 upper-division credit hours. Students are advised to work with their advisor to choose these hours to complete coursework necessary for graduate school entrance requirements. A grade of C or better is required in each upper-division course counted toward fulfillment of the major requirements. (A grade of C- will not satisfy this requirement.)

Students planning to apply to a graduate program in Orthotics/Prosthetics should meet with the department advisor for assistance in choosing appropriate electives.
