The Rockhurst Ed.D. program in Education and Leadership provides four concentration areas: Health Care Education, Higher Education, K-12 Leadership, and Athletic Training.

The degree requires the completion of 78 graduate hours beyond the Bachelor’s degree, consisting of 45 credits of required and elective Rockhurst courses. Official transcripts received may provide a maximum of 33 graduate transfer credits to fulfill the degree requirement of 78 hours.

  • Graduate transfer credit with a grade of B (3.0) or better may be accepted from any accredited institution, if approved by the Ed.D. Program Director.
  • Students may transfer in a maximum of 6 credits towards the 45 Rockhurst required credit hours. Transfer course equivalencies may only count towards the following required courses, or may count towards the 12 hours of required electives, if approved by the Ed.D. Program Director and taken within a graduate degree program completed within the previous 6 years:
    • ED 8100: Introduction to Statistics (3)
    • ED 8030: Legal Aspects of Higher Education (2)
  • ABD doctoral students admitted to the Ed.D. program may transfer in 15-credits instead of the maximum 6-credits towards required coursework. These students will then take an additional 30 Rockhurst credit hours to fulfill the 45 credits of required courses.
