Special Undergraduate Academic and Co-Curricular Programs
Rockhurst University inspires in its students a commitment to service to the larger community. Students use their gifts to transform the world, making a better place for all people. The Center for Service Learning fosters this commitment through service-learning courses, community service activities, and community engagement.
The Center organizes the Finucane Service Project during Orientation Week (for incoming students). The Center is a clearinghouse of service opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. The Center works with the faculty to design service-learning projects to complement academic courses. All students are strongly encouraged to act on their committments and values through service to others.
Upon completion of volunteer projects and service-learning activities, students submit a form with a record of the project to the Center for Service Learning to build a Service Transcript. The Service Transcript Program records all of the student’s community service and service-learning activities. The Service Transcript is available to the student upon request.
The Center for Service Learning is located in Van Ackeren Hall, Room 200G, telephone 816-501-4545.
