The Film Arts major is a liberal arts major consisting of a minimum of 39 credit hours, with 21 base credit hours in theatre and film acting, music and visual art courses, followed by a minimum of 15 credit hours in the student’s chosen track. All students will be required to take 3 credit hours of theatre arts practicum.

During the current 2022-2023 academic year, the Film Acting track is offered. In future academic years, additional tracks will be added to the Film Arts major.

To earn a total of 3 credits in practicum hours, students are required to take 1 credit hour per semester for three semesters of the following practicum courses:


Also required are 12 semester hours of related upper-division courses, chosen under the directon of the major advisor. A grade of C or better is required in each course of the major. (A grade of C-will not satisfy the requirement.)
