The Medical Spanish Undergraduate Certificate requires the completion of five (5) 3-credit hour Spanish courses, referred to as ‘badges’ in the Medical Spanish program. The required courses must be completed in residence at Rockhurst.
Students who have initially declared for the Medical Spanish minor may choose to move from the minor to the certificate program and complete the fifth required course, but may not earn both the minor and the certificate.
To apply for the Medical Spanish certificate, students must use the “Undergraduate Declaration of Majors, Minors, or Certificates” form located under “Important Links” on the Registrar’s webpage at www.rockhurst.edu/academics/registrar. This action will replace the student’s minor in Medical Spanish with the Medical Spanish Certificate program.
Students may not earn a major and a minor, or minor and certificate, in the same area; nor can they apply upper-division courses required by the major toward the minor.
