HS 3892 - The History of African Americans since the Civil War (3) A survey of the history of African Americans since the Civil War, this course examines the social, economic, and political patterns of the lives of African American women and men as they sought to shape their presence in the United States following the war between the North and the South. Some of the topics to be discussed are the Great Migration, the church in the African American experience, migration to the urban north, the Harlem Renaissance, the industrial age, and the civil rights movement.
