HS 4100 - History as Biography (3) This course examines the lives and historical impact of selected individuals who have significantly influenced the history of western and/or world civilization, or who have embodied much that is representative of the periods in which they lived. The course also discusses the value of biography as a literary genre and a contribution to historical scholarship. Students read a number of historical biographies and are introduced to varieties of historical interpretation.
