AN 3100 - South Asia: Peoples and Cultures

This course is an anthropological exploration of the cultures and societies of South Asia. The geographical area of focus includes, for example, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Topical focus and central themes of the course include a selection from: political organization, religion, marriage and kinship, the colonial experience, cultural representation, identity, gender, globalization, and diaspora.

Prerequisite: AN 1000  or instructor approval.
