ED 1350 - Introduction to Design Thinking (3) This course provides an overview of design thinking, including the frameworks and tools needed to effectively apply this method to create innovative solutions to complex problems. We will review and discuss theories, practices and methods of design thinking, and experience a six-stage design thinking process: challenge, interpret, create a plan, build and test, then pitch and share. We will also identify collaborative team dynamics that need to be mastered for the design thinking process to succeed and practice these skills to gain deeper insight into its requirements and challenges. Learners will develop a deeper understanding about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) related professions of engineering, architecture, technology, urban planning, education, and environmental design.
