SP 4090 - Medical Spanish & Sociolinguistics (3) In this course, students will be introduced to the connection that exists between sociolinguistics (the social evaluation of language) and the medical field. Topics covered include Spanish spoken by the Latinx communities in the U.S., and an in-depth look at medical suffixes, and regional and social language variation found among Spanish-Speakers, as it related to healthcare.
Prerequisite: SP 4065 , or SP 4075 , or SP 4082 or approval by the instructor.
