PY 3550 - Psychological Disorders

This course offers an introduction to the diagnosis, etiology, and treatment of psychological disorders, including the anxiety, trauma-related, mood, eating, substance use, neurocognitive, and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders.  Biogenetic, cognitive-behavioral, sociocultural, and other empirically-supported approaches to the conceptualization and treatment of psychological disorders are emphasized in this course.  Issues such as prevention, resilience, stigma, and access to mental health care are also explored. Not for credit if student has previously taken PY 2550.

 

Prerequisite: PY 1000  or PY 1100 .
