How do drugs affect the brain and behavior? This course will examine the physiological and behavioral effects of the major classes of psychoactive drugs. Topics include the biological basis of drug action, addiction, pharmacology of drugs of abuse and their therapeutic potential, and psychotherapeutic drugs.

Prerequisite: PY 1000 or PY 1100 and Junior Standing.
