ED 4460 - Teaching Middle and Secondary School English

Students will explore and analyze a variety of issues and approaches to the teaching of middle and secondary school English. The development and assessment of curriculum, instructional methods, and learning activities are emphasized with a focus on the NCTE standards and Common Core State Standards. Students will participate in off-campus teaching and teaching in local classrooms. Students will develop a unit of study for the English classroom. This course also requires a non-credit field placement experience.
