PY 4020 - Psychology of Disabilities

This course provides a survey of the range of physical, developmental, psychological, and sensory disabilities from a biopsychosocial perspective. The focus is on children, adolescents, and young adults and examines evidence-based information about disabilities including epidemiology, etiology, diagnoses, risk factors, prevention, treatment, and issues of support. Students will synthesize, evaluate, and apply research from empirical journal articles on disabilities in discussions and written assignments. Not for credit if student has previously taken PYED 3020.

Prerequisite: PY 1000  and sophomore standing.
