PY 4550 - Applied Behavior Analysis

(3)
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the practical application of behavioral laws to solve behavioral problems. ABA uses the principles and practices of behavior modification in many settings, such as business, education, medicine/psychiatry, clinical psychology, industry, and the list goes on. A significant principle of ABA is that the analyst uses a research design approach when implementing behavioral changes, which allows the designer of the behavioral intervention to determine if the behavioral program is effective. Mastering the principles of ABA allows the analyst to make behavioral changes in not only severe cases (mental retardation, autism, etc.), but also in everyday problem situations.

Prerequisite: PY 1000  and sophomore standing.
