ED 6160 - Teaching Middle and Secondary School Mathematics (ED 4160) (3)
This course examines the goals, principles, and procedures of mathematics education in middle and secondary schools. Guided by the NCTM standards, and the Common Core State Standards, the course examines current practice and emerging trends in mathematics education. Special emphasis is place on teaching mathematics as a problem solving activity and facilitating learners in the practices of mathematics. This class requires a non-credit hour field experience. The graduate-level course requires independent accelerated additional coursework appropriate for the graduate level.
