PT 6815 - Professional and Leadership Development I

This course is the first in a four-course sequence designed to enhance student growth through professional and leadership development. The focus of this course is on intra- and interpersonal communication issues and skills, and principles of education. Learning units address both the professional and patient perspective. Included topics are principles of leadership, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and its foundational documents, professionalism, psychosocial aspects of illness, basic communication skills, conflict resolution, and principles of education.
