College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis
This integrated college combines analytics, business, communication, computer science, economics, mathematics, nonprofit leadership, political science, public policy, and technology for an innovative nexus of disciplines. Graduates benefit from exposure to a wide variety of decision-making and leadership concepts that leave them ready to tackle what lies ahead. The degrees are built on three of the most highly marketable skills in today’s workplace – the ability to make sound organizational decisions, to lead and positively influence others, and the conscience to make the right decisions for the greater good. The Helzberg School of Management , one of the best business schools in the country, is housed in this college as well.
The College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis confers the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in communication, political science, public policy, and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in computer science, mathematics, sport management as well as all Helzberg School of Management degrees. The Helzberg School of Management grants the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with possible concentrations in accounting, corporate accounting and finance, financial markets and economic analysis, international business, marketing, marketing analytics, management, and non-profit administration. The Helzberg School of Management also grants Bachelor of Arts degrees (BA) in both economics and nonprofit leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Science (BS) in analytics and technology.
The College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis offers minors in communication, journalism, mathematics, and political science in addition to all minors offered through the Helzberg School of Management. These include minors in business administration (pre-MBA), general business, economics, marketing, nonprofit leadership, and an interdisciplinary leadership development minor. All minors are available to any Rockhurst University student who is not seeking a major in the same subject area.
All students are eligible to participate in the Goppert Cooperative Education Program (Co-op). See section in Campus Life .
Liberal Core Requirements
All College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis students are required to complete the liberal core requirements of Rockhurst University. See section on The Core Curriculum .
Admission
Undergraduate students are admitted to Rockhurst University by the Office of Admission and Financial Aid. Students are directly admitted into the College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis if interested in one of the degree programs offered and can immediately declare their major. In addition, students can declare a concentration where available without regard to a specific number of credit hours or courses completed.
Transfer Students
The College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis welcomes transfer students. Students considering transferring to Rockhurst University from another institution should have their academic records evaluated by the CBIIA Director of Undergraduate Advising to determine the transferability of courses. The Helzberg School of Management requires that at least 50 percent of the business credit hours required for the BSBA degree be earned at Rockhurst University.
Academic Student Services
The College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis Director of Undergraduate Advising assists students by providing information about degree programs, initial credit evaluations, and course preregistration. Undergraduates must be advised every semester in order to preregister for classes. Freshmen students are also assigned faculty advisors in their major areas of study. Part-time students are also advised by the CBIIA academic advising staff with faculty available to provide academic and career guidance.
