Cybersecurity

To meet the growing demand in the essential area of cybersecurity, Rockhurst offers a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Cybersecurity. This major is offered in conjunction with Saint Louis University. Students will take most of their coursework at Rockhurst, but the program will also include specific courses taken online through St. Louis University’s (SLU’s) Security and Strategic Intelligence program.

Mission

The undergraduate degree in Cybersecurity is designed so that graduates attain employment and advance their careers in industry, government, and academia. This program focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to Cybersecurity incorporating elements of technology, risk management, and criminal justice. Some graduates achieve appropriate certifications and/or pursue advanced study in Cybersecurity or other graduate fields. Graduates are engaged in lifelong learning and thereby advance in their careers. Notably, graduates are committed to the service of their communities and the contemporary world.

Goals

• Goal 1: Students will obtain a high degree of technical proficiency and statistical analysis.
• Goal 2: Students will apply ethical and moral standards to their use and protection of technology and data.
• Goal 3: Students will be able to function well in a team or leadership environment.
• Goal 4: Students will demonstrate the ability to continually update their skillset as technologies and cyber threats continue to evolve.
