Mathematics Minor, Applied Mathematics Track

Minor Field of Concentration

The student may choose between two tracks for a mathematics minor. Students majoring in physics may complete a mathematics minor under the applied mathematics track. A grade of C or better is required in each upper-division course counted toward fulfillment of the minor requirements. (A grade of C- will not satisfy this requirement.)

Applied Mathematics Track

The student must take MT 2800  or MT 2200 , and at least four upper-division mathematics courses from the following:

• MT 3260 - Mathematical Modeling (3)
• MT 3400 - Probability and Statistics I (3)
• MT 3450 - Problems in Industry Seminar (3)
• MT 3530 - Numerical Methods (3)
• MT 3700 - Differential Equations (3)
• MT 3810 - Linear Algebra (3)
• MT 4410 - Probability and Statistics II (3)
