Post-Baccalaureate Orthotics and Prosthetics Program

Students interested in Masters degree programs in Orthotics and Prosthetics can take pre-requisite coursework at Rockhurst through our post-baccalaureate program. The Post-Baccalaureate Orthotics and Prosthetics (PostBacOP) program at Rockhurst University provides future health care professionals with the foundational coursework, standardized test preparation and real-world experience necessary for a successful application to a health professional program. At Kansas City’s Jesuit University, we offer an academic tradition that dates back nearly 500 years. Rockhurst sits on a 55-acre campus in the urban core of Kansas City, Missouri.

Mission

The mission of the program is to provide quality science education and academic advising for individuals with a desire to pursue a career path in health sciences.

Eligibility for acceptance into the Rockhurst PostBacOP Program


  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Cumulative undergraduate GPA minimum of 3.0
  • Strong interest and motivation for pursuing a career in Orthotics and Prosthetics

Completion of Pre-Requisite Coursework


Students develop individual course plans along with academic advisors and program directors Dr. Annie Lee and Dr. Laura Salem. Advising meetings take place every semester. Summer coursework is available in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and Physics. In addition to basic pre-requisite courses, students can take additional coursework to enhance their application and preparedness for a Masters program in Orthotics and Prosthetics. A minimum of 12 hours of pre-requisite coursework must be completed at Rockhurst.
