Medical Spanish Certificate

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs of Study

The Medical Spanish certificate requires the completion of 5 three credit hour Spanish courses, referred to as ‘badges’ in the Medical Spanish program. The required courses must be completed in residence at Rockhurst.

Students that have initially declared for the Medical Spanish minor may choose to move from the minor to the certificate program and complete the fifth required course, but may not earn both the minor and the certificate.

To apply for the Medical Spanish Certificate, students must use the “Undergraduate Declaration of Majors, Minors, or Certificates” form located under “Important Links” on the Registrar’s webpage at www.rockhurst.edu/academics/registrar . This action will replace the student’s minor in Medical Spanish with the Medical Spanish Certificate program.

Required Courses:

Total required credits: 15

NOTE:

Students must earn a minimum grade of C in each course required for the certificate. The 15 hours required for the certificate must be earned in residence.

Students may choose either the minor or the certificate before graduation, but may not obtain both the minor and the certificate. Medical Spanish minor students who decide to complete the fifth course (referred to as a badge) must complete a change of major to move from the Medical Spanish minor to the Medical Spanish certificate.
