Computational Statistics Certificate

A Certificate in Computational Statistics provides the tools for students to be able to propose and communicate solutions to statistical problems using computer algorithms, a highly sought-after set of skills with a growing job market. 

This certificate can be pursued on its own, or as a complement to any undergraduate degree.  

Learning Outcomes
  • Communicate statistical understanding in a variety of settings, both orally and in writing
  • Use technology to support and illustrate statistical investigations and problem-solving
  • Describe, interpret and do exploratory analysis of data
  • Analyze data appropriately using:
  • probability theory
  • statistical reasoning and inferential methods
  • statistical computing and
  • statistical modeling
 

Requirements:


A grade of C or better is required in each upper-division course counted toward fulfillment of the certificate requirements. (A grade of C- will not satisfy this requirement.)

It is possible to transfer lower-level prerequisites for this certificate, but 15 credit hours of upper-level prerequisites taken at Rockhurst University are required.
